Simple ways to sell your music online
1. Create FREE website FAN blog and update content frequently
Talk about recent concerts, music, what your lyrics mean, your favorite songs, etc.
Drive traffic by link-sharing with similar artists.
2. Participate on twitter, facebook, youtube, myspace, and other forum
Let the fans know you. Use social media to drive traffic to your profile and website.
3. Collect names and emails to set up a newsletter/email fan club
A profile should include a free newsletter signup form like @electroperros. Check us an example below.
4. Make sure your music is “searchable”.
Sign up for as many social sites as possible using your artist name as your username for better search rankings. A youtube and twitter presence is very important.
5. Set up a Google alert to track your name or your style.
When people are talking about you, you can participate in the conversation. We’ve created a google alert about “electropop” to be first to know news about our style.
6. You can sell your music as tracks or albums via free distributors like ROUTENOTE.
Our album is in Spotify, itunes and google play and it was free distributed thanks to Routenote website… (We’ve not been paid for this free publicity). There are more platforms like that….CD BABY, EBAY, MIUSEEK.
7. Hold surveys to find out what your fans want to see from you next.
Twitter and Instagram are good apps you can use to create a survey. You can find out the opinion of your fans about different subjects.
8. Encourage friends and fans to comment on your songs in SoundCloud plage and fan page.
